About the Coalition

In 2022, the West Midlands Combined Authority, The West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Barnardo's came alongside partners representing Policing, Fire Service, Probation, Local Authorities, Health, Faith, Education and Third Sector organisations to embark on the task of developing a region-wide vision and programme to support the best possible outcomes for the residents of the West Midlands through the adoption of a system-wide trauma informed approach.

Focused on early intervention and prevention, a design sprint was undertaken to glean the best collaborative evidence from research, practice, and lived experience to support strategy, action, and resource development.

Now, hundreds of senior leaders across the region's public and third sectors have come together to form a collaborative and innovative Coalition. The West Midlands Trauma Informed Coalition stands together with one common aim: To see a trauma informed, emotionally safe West Midlands for all.

If you are a leader working within the West Midlands and want to be part of the strategic vision to create a trauma informed, emotionally safe West Midlands for all, you can get involved and stay connected with the activity by becoming a member of the West Midlands Trauma Informed Coalition here:
